I rang ahead to see if there were any gluten free options. A friendly helpful answer was I could have steamed fish with chips or Scampi. The restaurant is dog friendly and we were given a warm welcome with our two dogs. I had gluten free scampi with chips and salad which was delicious. My husband had medium fish in batter with chips and peas. It was all really good. The staff are so friendly and made a fuss of the dogs. Thank you for a lovely meal.

Wow! What a fabulous fish and chip shop this is, called in for a couple of the most amazing battered haddock ever! The batter was the perfect consistency, nice and light and absolutely delicious. On top of that they were fried in traditional beef dripping, so the perfect flavour. Staff were lovely and friendly too. I used to own my own fish and chip shop for a number of years, so I know excellent fish and chips when I see them. Superb value for money too. They do excellent daily lunchtime specials too.

We were staying at the local camp site next to the canal, it was a freezing cold evening and our fridge had decided to go wrong, so after settling in at campsite, we decided to venture down a short walk to the local chippy , The food and service were excellent and I have to be honest and say it was the best fish and chips we’ve had in a long time, the pudding was amazing and so was the pot of tea , and the two ciders , we would recommend to everyone

We chanced across the this place while out walking with our dogs as we were staying at a local campsite. And from the moment we walked in the staff were amazing, so nice and helpful even bringing water for our dogs and chatting with us. The food was first class and my wife had gluten free option. Both of which were huge and cooked to perfection. We would definitely recommend and we will be back

We went here tonight to purchase our tea after a day sightseeing the beautiful villages, moors & attractions in the area. We purchased, large haddock and chips, mushy peas & curry sauce. The fish was cooked perfect, large flakes of white fish coated in a light, non greasy batter. The premises are spotlessly clean & the staff friendly and attentive. All food was freshly prepared while we waited. We couldn't wait to get back to our cottage in Gargrave to eat our tea. Definitely worth a visit.

Recommended by a friend and were we impressed. Very welcoming clean and warm. The service was top notch and the food cooked fresh to order. Attention to detail was brilliant, we were warned about the salt flow from the salt pot and how not to burn ourselves on the coffee thingy. We had small fish and chips which was plenty for two slim bikers on a Saturday jaunt. No room for the jam roly-poly on this visit but I’m sure we’ll have some when we visit The Frying Yorkshireman again sometime soon. Spot on….
